Can you help me source a particular size scoria for my next landscaping project?

Yes – our pits produce high-grade basalt and scoria rock. You’ll deal directly with our quarry owners to source the best fit in terms of colour, size, shape and texture for any project.

We’ve worked on a huge variety of projects across industries to provide custom quarry products across the Colac region, including:

My driveway produces a lot of dust – is there a way I can seal it?

Most of our quarry products can be crushed and used to seal driveways and other paths. Red gravel is our most common option, as it looks great and protects surfaces from mud build-up. It’s also fire-retardant, making it a great choice for farm track construction and repair.

I’ve heard people talking about ‘wombat’ – what is it?

Wombat is famous around Colac – it’s our local volcanic tuff, sourced by digging up the rims of extinct volcanoes.

Wombat is formed by volcanic deposits, where the material reacts with the surrounding conditions and compacts over time. Softer than its scoria relative, wombat is a great material for shaping landscaping rocks or using as an alternative to driveway gravel.

The soil in my garden is too acidic and my plants keep dying. What can I do?

Soil health is an important part of any domestic or commercial gardening project, from landscaping to farming.

Our Colac quarry provides a range of landscape supplies suitable for improving and maintaining soil health for optimum grass, tree and plant growth, including:

  • agricultural lime – can be added to soil or used in topsoil to counteract soil acidity, increasing water penetration and mineral absorption
  • high-quality organic garden mulch and chook manure
  • a contract screening service to remove debris and increase plant nutrient-uptake – can be used for topsoil, gravel, compost and fertiliser.
